Karbon software

One governed data foundation. Every ESG outcome

The platform is not six products stitched together. A figure enters once, keeps its evidence, and is read by every capability that needs it.

What each one changes

Capabilities designed around business outcomes

Each entry below is here because of what it changes for you, not because it fills a feature grid.

  1. 01

    Measure

A baseline that survives a review

Scope 1, 2 and 3 across every facility, on versioned emission factors, with your own methodology where the default will not do.

    • Facility, process and product-level inventories
    • Versioned factor library with full restatement history
    • Scope 3 across all fifteen categories
  2. 02

    Data ingestion

Weeks of data entry become a day

Utility bills, fuel logs, meter photos, travel statements and supplier returns are read, structured and reconciled automatically.

    • Bills, logs, meter photos and statements read as they arrive
    • Unit mismatches, outliers and gaps flagged before they land
    • Source document attached to every extracted figure
  3. 03

    Report

    One dataset, every framework

BRSR, GRI, CSRD, CDP, TCFD and lender questionnaires generated from the same numbers. Change a figure once and it lands everywhere.

    • Nine frameworks mapped to a single dataset
    • Interoperable disclosures, no parallel workbooks
    • Regulator-ready formats, not exports you reformat
  4. 04

    Verify

    Audit ready without a scramble

Assurance-grade audit trails and gap analysis against the frameworks you disclose on, so verification is a review and not a reconstruction.

    • Every figure traceable to its evidence
    • Gap register with owners and dates
    • Limited and reasonable assurance support
  5. 05

    Reduce

A plan a CFO will sign

Costed abatement pathways sequenced by marginal cost, tracked against your net zero target and your rating scorecards.

    • Marginal abatement cost curves per site
    • Rating improvement on the indicators that move fastest
    • Trajectory tracking against interim milestones
  6. 06

    Deploy

Deploy where your data needs to stay

Cloud, private cloud or fully on-premise, including environments where data cannot leave the building.

    • Cloud, private cloud or air-gapped on-premise
    • SSO, role-based access and tenant isolation
    • Deployed alongside your existing ERP and SCADA

Data you can defend

Trace every number back to evidence

When someone asks “where did this number come from?”, you shouldn't need three spreadsheets and four people to answer. Trace any figure from source reading through calculation and methodology to the exact line in your disclosure.

Supplier engagement

Turn supplier data into decision-ready Scope 3 insight

Most of a manufacturer's footprint sits outside its own gates, and most supplier campaigns die in the chasing. We run the whole flow (onboarding, questionnaire, follow-up and scoring) so the responses actually arrive.

Suppliers grouped, not listed

Bulk-import your vendor master and group suppliers by tier, spend, category or region. The group decides who gets which questionnaire, so you are not building one list per campaign.

You end up with: Segmented supplier register

What changes

Spreadsheet campaign
  • One spreadsheet per supplier, emailed out
  • Chasing by hand, tracked in another spreadsheet
  • Responses re-keyed, units reconciled manually
  • Evidence lives in an inbox, if at all
  • Spend-based estimates stay in the inventory
Run on the platform
  • One questionnaire, mapped to every framework
  • Reminders and final calls fire on status
  • Responses scored on arrival, units validated
  • Evidence attached to the answer it supports
  • Supplier primary data replaces the estimates

India's compliance carbon market

Manage CCTS compliance from boundary to settlement

The scheme turns your emission intensity into a traded position. We take you from confirming the obligation through to certificates in the registry.

Your target is set before the year starts. Your position isn't

Above the notified target you buy certificates. Below it, you have certificates to sell.

Illustrative example
Emission intensity against the notified target, 2024 to 2028Your intensity starts at 100 and falls to 79. The target falls from 100 to 84. You are above the target until mid 2026, so you buy certificates, and below it from 2027, so you have certificates to sell.809010020242025202620272028tCO₂e per unit of output (indexed)BuySellTargetYouBuy until 2026, sell from 2027

Reading the chart

Your intensity starts above the target, so the early years are a shortfall you cover by buying certificates. Once it drops below the target, the gap becomes certificates you can sell.

What the position is worth

Two plants in one obligated entity, pulling opposite ways. Certificates net off inside the group before anything is traded.

Illustrative example

Plant A

Older line, coal-fired captive power

37,200 tCO₂e short

−₹8.93 Cr

Plant B

Retrofitted line, WHR and solar PPA

22,800 tCO₂e long

+₹5.47 Cr

Net group position

Plant B covers 61% of Plant A's shortfall before you buy anything on the market.

−₹3.46 Cr

14,400 tCO₂e to buy

At an assumed ₹2,400 per certificate. Amber is a shortfall you buy; blue is a surplus you can sell.

The compliance year, in seven phases

Collapsed from the twelve statutory steps we track per plant.

Phase 1 of 7

Register and lock the boundary

Register the plant under the scheme, then define and lock the gate-to-gate boundary. Get this wrong and every number downstream is measured against the wrong denominator.

You end up with

Locked boundary definition

Reporting interoperability

One governed dataset. Multiple disclosure outputs

Correct a figure once and it lands in every framework that uses it. No parallel workbooks.

FAQ

Karbon software, answered

How the platform measures, governs and reports your ESG data.

What is ESG software?

ESG software helps organisations measure, manage, report and improve environmental, social and governance performance. Karbon brings Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions, suppliers, ESG disclosures and decarbonisation into one traceable platform, supporting frameworks such as BRSR, GRI, CSRD and ISSB.

How does Karbon calculate Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions?

Karbon measures Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions at activity level across facilities, processes and value-chain categories, using the GHG Protocol and versioned emission factors. Scope 3 covers all 15 categories, using activity and supplier data wherever available.

How does supplier engagement work in Karbon?

Karbon helps you onboard suppliers, collect primary data, send assessments and reminders, and track responses and scores. Supplier data can then support Scope 3 calculations, BRSR value-chain disclosures and customer or buyer questionnaires.

Is the data in Karbon audit-ready?

Yes. Source documents stay linked to the figures they support. Karbon records evidence, calculations, reviews, approvals and version history, while flagging data gaps, outliers and unit errors to create a traceable audit trail.

Does Karbon support CBAM and India’s CCTS?

Yes. Karbon supports CBAM product-level emissions and supplier data, as well as CCTS emission-intensity tracking, target management and carbon credit certificate workflows.

Can Karbon be deployed on-premise?

Yes. Karbon supports cloud, private cloud and fully on-premise deployment, including environments where data must remain within the organisation’s network. It also supports enterprise SSO, RBAC and integration with ERP, IoT, EMS and SCADA systems.
